Theresa May, who succeeded David Cameron as Prime Minister, is trying to negotiate Brexit amongst a deeply divided and split Tory party. She is desperate to hold her party together while she negotiates terms to leave Europe by activating Article 50.
A section of the ruling class wants to desperately stay in the EU to have access to the single market. Another section wants to get rid of the restrictions of Strasbourg and other European nations. The situation has been complicated by the legal challenge to Brexit which insists that any decision to leave the European Union must be discussed by Parliament.

As you might have seen in our daily “News Today”, the Austrian section of the RCIT is under attack by the main right-wing opposition party which is launching a parliamentary inquiry against our section as well as an Egyptian migrant organization. As a consequence, they ask the Federal Ministry of the Interior to officially investigate these two organizations. (See our report here: https://www.thecommunists.net/rcit/parliamentary-inquiry-against-rcit-section/)
We ask you to support the “Call for Solidarity” which you can find below.
Please send this letter to the email addresses of the Austrian parliament as well as the Ministry of Interior (and forward a copy to us).
We also ask you to spread this call and to ask other organizations and personalities to support this “Call for Solidarity”.

Statement of Solidarity
Protest against the Parliamentary Inquiry launched by the Right-Wing Opposition Party in Austria against the RCIT Section and the Egyptian Migrant Community!
Stop Prosecution for Solidarity with Palestine and for Opposition against the Military Dictatorship in Egypt!
We, the undersigned, are aware that a group of deputies of the Freiheitliche Partei, an extreme right-wing racist party led by HC Strache, has initiated a parliamentary inquiry against the Austrian section of the RCIT as well as against the leading organization of the Egyptian migrants in Austria. Referring to solidarity slogans chanted at an anti-racist demonstration in Vienna on the 26 November 2016, in support of Palestine as well as slogans which supported the resistance of the Egyptian people against the military dictatorship the parliamentary deputies of the Freiheitliche Partei have called for the Federal Ministry of the Interior to officially investigate these two organizations with the view of taking legal steps against them. Irrespective of our perspectives about the future of the Palestinian as well as the Egyptian people’s struggle for liberation, we protest against holding a parliamentary inquiry and we also oppose any state investigation and prosecution against these organizations.
Please send this short letter by email to the Austrian Parliament (firstname.lastname@example.org) as well as to the Austrian ministry of interior (email@example.com). Please forward this email also to us: firstname.lastname@example.org
